New Notebook.. a few niggles..

Okay.. just a few things I need to sort;

1- How do I get the file name extension to appear? i.e .gif. mp3 etc..
2- when I have pictures from my email the only selectionI have is .bmp.. and I want .jpg.. how do I fix that??!!

In my Documents go to Tools, Folder Options, View Tab, Take out tick for Hide Extensions

Go to a jpeg picture then right click, Open With Choose program then choose
a program that you can associate with that file.. i.e download and install some
picture software like http://www.irfanview.com/

I've installed psp.. but when I go to open with... psp isn't a selection!!! When I browse it takes me to psp.exe file!

ignore that.. I just activiated the psp and it's fine!!!

So if you said I have installed Paint Shop Pro and when I choose Open With Paint Shop Pro is not in the list.. is that correct if so..


Browse then Go to... Program Files, Jasc Software Inc, Paint Shop Pro,
now In there click on the same icon you would see on your desktop
that open PSP then Open then tick always use this program, Ok

Use Internet Explorer and view a picture on a website and then right click
the picture and choose save image/picture as, do you have the choice
of jpg bmp or gif mainly the option of jpg.

P.S Can you slow down your responses as I cant type that quick
and I hate wasting my keyboard skills..... Ta very much

If i try to save it as a .jpg it saves, but when I open it it's not a valid format!!!

So have you a specific file that isnt opening either from a website or
is it just all pictures.... maybe if its from one particular
site try posting the link.

Edit: Download and run https://www.ccleaner.com as it could just be a full cache.

are the pictures embedded in the email? if so it'll only give you .bmp as the option. I don't think it actually knows that the image is, it's just there so it gives you the basic option.
