Hi, i have been in a joint IVA wife my wife for 27 months and everything has been rosie. I am in the army and now being posted abroad, so my wife has to give up her job which cuts our income by half. Having informed my iva firm of this they have said that i can not reduce my monthly payments. Is this right? is there anything else i could do?

They can do a variation in certain circumstances, well our provider DFD certainly can. They basically have to call another creditors meeting & ti goes to the vote again. We were looking at doing one but we have managed to just reduce it for 6 months at which point our childcare bill will lower & add on the payments we have missed at the end of the 60 month term. Will your wife be able to get work where you are being posted? Good Luck with it all:grinheart I'm getting there...... slowly but surely0

That unfortunaltey is one of the drawbacks of an IVA, they are not flexible, and if your circumstances are likely to change within the 5 years they are not suitable.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
