RAM chips

Hello all,

Have just replaced 2 x 512MB RAM memory chips in my laptop with 2 x 2GB chips, some feat for me but so much quicker now its untrue. Anyhow, thought I might as well put the old ones on Ebay - can anyone confirm if any data is retained on the old ones and could this be retrieved by somebody who purchased them? Obviously don't want my personal data to be open to all,

thankyou

No, no data can be stored on normal RAM chips.

ask yourself this... did you lose any data when replacing them?

if the answer is no.. then that is the same answer to if any of your data is actually on them...

RAM is only active when the machine is on... so, as soon as it loses power, ram does nothing, and stores nothing..
  • thankyou, just wanted to check.
