I don't mean to be rude, but quick washes aren't a good idea. They don't really get the clothes as clean as a fullish load on a cottons 40c wash.

You've not said if you use liquid or powder, but as a rule I only use biological powder - maybe colour powder for special clothes, but never liquid.

The liquid is a bit like conditioner - it leaves a residue inside your machine which builds up. This could cause damage to your machine and/or clothes. Either way, not good.

I'd suggest running a 90c cottons wash with extra rinse and use the stains/intensive wash plus button if you have one. Put a good scoop of biological powder in, a dash of bleach, soda crystals and a cup of white vinegar if possible.

I know the above probably sounds like a cocktail, but if my machine was in the shape yours sounds, I'd use it on my machine too.

If after a second wash on my little cocktail things don't improve, I'd suspect the bearings are your culprit.
Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.
  • you are not being rude at all. I have just found out on the in my home forum just hw bad quick washes can be. I usually use Fairy powder as I am allergic to bio powders. At present though, the machine is running empty at 90 degrees with some bio powder in it for the first of it's cleaning cycles. I'll take your advice basmic for the next one & add the bleach, soda & vinegar. Thanks again.

    Excellent!

Try the maintenance wash or Affresh to clear it out although you may have to run it a few time to clean it through. There's usually a lot of gunk in them when that happens.
