if you are a student and a single parent (just what i have picked up on, on the previous postings) you can still get benefits. my daughter gets a good bursary from the NHS but because she twins, most of her rent gets paid and she pays no council tax. you can also apply to the uni for a grant (you dont pay it back) from the uni hardship fund. when my daughter was in serious trouble for money a short time ago, she applied and was given over 2k in a grant, paid out in tghree equal payments, one each term. quite a handy sum to have. your student income, wherever that comes from, should also be paying towards your child care.
apply for everything, they can only say no. you may even qualify for a bit of income support.0 -
As your original post has gone I'm just guessing it. Do you get tax credits?
And as for jobs, Gumtree have all sorts of immediate start ones for every area and a lot are aimed at students for weekends, often drink/nightclub promoters which are easier than the fundraiser ones..0 -

However, there are a lot of these street charity fundraiser jobs that pay about £8 per hour and its more or less immediate start... Not sure if I could bring myslef to do it for a month as I can imagine how tedious and demotivating that job is, especially in the rain but if needs must.
There are a lot of people in this country earning less than £8 per hour doing much worse jobs. Don't be so quick to rule it out.0
