Pegler kitchen taps

Hello,
Does anyone know if Pegler taps are any good?

I really like this one from Screwfix, but they don't have a showroom so not sure about quality.

Also I've seen one in Trade Depot that I like (not sure of the make):

Any thoughts/views/experiences gratefully received!

Thanks

Pegler taps are a very old brand and presumably a good one. Nowadays you cannot be sure that the name on something means that it is made by them. So many well known names have been taken over by other companies.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

I like the style of the second one best! But Pegler is a well known name.

Have you looked at Franke? We have had one of theirs for 21 years now.

There are quite a lot of places selling taps at a discount if you shop around.

Beth, if your not sure on the Screwfix one you could just buy it anyway as you can return free of charge even if you change your mind...though it is obviously hassle that you have to be in for the courier to collect - though for items less than 3kg i believe you can return free of charge by royal mail. Our Parcel Force man is fed up with me as i've returned 3 items on seperate occasions in the last few weeks! Last time he said "this is becoming a bit of a habit"!
  • There's quite a few big brands with an huge choice.

    Franke
    Blacko
    Astracast
    Carron Phoenix
Shaws - for the classical look
Caple - for a decent but cheaper alternative (as in not as classy looking but still good quality build)
  • Good morning: Have you considered Bristan products ...available at plumbers merchants and online? Pegler is an established company but OH usually fits Bristan these days.

    HTH

    Canucklehead
Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)
  • We have a Pegler similar in design to the Screwfix one. Quallty is good and seems it is made to last. Only drawback, which is found in most swan-neck mixer taps is the retention of water in the spout after use. This small amount of water will be released some minutes after turning the tap off.
