Peugeot Car Key

Hello - can anyone help me get a reasonably priced remote 2-button blip key for a Peugeot 306? I need to get a new key cut and the Peugeot dealer wants £140 for the pleasure of cutting it - I'm sure it would be a pleasure for him at that price. :mad:

I accept that to get a new remote key is going to be more expensive than a regular key, but does it really have to cost this much?

You can buy new remote keys off ebay quite cheaply, then get any locksmith to cut the key part of it for you. What you then need to do is read the handbook for the car and it tells you how to programme the new key into the central locking.

Thank you very much Blue-Haddock for your rapid response. The car was bought as a used car so I guess I need to buy a handbook too.

Sometimes you can't programme it yourself - you have to take it to the dealer to get the chip within the key programmed to your car's specific security numbers, radio codes, immobiliser codes etc.

Check your newly purchased manual and see what it says there.
