Hi

we are looking to buy a washer dryer and would appreciate it if someone could send me the latest which? report on these.

I remember a while ago that a kind chap did this for me - if this is still possible, please point me in the right direction

Many thanks

I have just looked and seen the last full which report on washer driers was in August 2004 so a bit out of date. Which's last update was in March 2005 and their best buys were:

    1 Zanussi ZWD1480W Price then £439
    2 AEG L16810 Price then £550.

    Hope this helps.
    Regards

    Updated December 2005

Washer-driers aren’t as good as a separate washing machine and tumble drier. But we have found two models that clean clothes well and are pretty good at drying.

The AEG L16810 gets clothes as clean as our Best Buy washing machines. You couldn’t ask for more features – there are easy-iron and hand-wash programs, variable spin speed, delayed start, and a program-stage indicator. However, it struggles to rinse clothes thoroughly.

Drying isn’t on a par with our tumble drier Best Buys, but it is more effective than most washer-driers. It dries evenly but creases more than a tumble drier would. To make up for that, though, it’s a breeze to use and fairly quiet, too. There is very limited availability online from £530.
(The AEG L16810 will soon be replaced by the L16820, which is the same except for minor cosmetic changes.)
The Zanussi ZWD1480W also cleans as well as a Best Buy washing machine. It’s not brilliant at rinsing clothes, but it is better than the AEG. It costs from £522 online but availability is limited.

And, for a washer-drier, it gets clothes impressively dry. It’s not as good as a Best Buy tumble drier, but it is better than any other washer-drier we’ve seen. It’s also easy to use, and one of the quieter machines.
