I have a sanyo dvrS300 dvd recorder which worked fine with my analogue tv.
As I was getting poor reception due to where I live, I upgraded to digital tv and bought a panasonic tv with integral freeview.
I've just spent a frustrating afternoon trying to tune the dvr in, and it will only pick up the analogue signal still ( which is now worse as I'm on a different transmitter to get the stronger digital signal.)
I phoned up the Sanyo helpline, and they told me that the dvr only has an analogue tuner; the only way of picking up the digital signal is through the tv first, but then I'll only be able to record the channel I'm watching, (which defeats the object of having the dvr in the first place!)
Does this sound right to you folks, as if I'd known that you needed a dvr with a digital tuner, I would have bought something different in the first place. The blasted thing is less than a year old, and sounds redundant already.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I would suggest buying a cheap set top box and run the feed through that and into your dvd-r.0

I tried that - didn't make any difference. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Seems strange - the set top box should convert the digital signal to an analogue output, which the DVD-R would pick up. Have you plugged the set-top box directly into the TV to see if that can pick it up?0

I'll have another play with it later, and let you know how I get on.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Dont forget to check the Source I/P on your DVD recorder -- I have a Sony recorder and my stb is fed to that via scart [ source is then L1 ] and the O/p of the dvd recorder up to the TV -- Dave0
