Strange thought that some people prefer such a basic need, a roof over your head, to cost ever more, and become ever more unaffordable to wages, with the desire for house prices to go up and up and up in price.
dopester I don't think they do. Nearly all surveys show that people wanted HPs to fall. You have to remember that nearly all home owners have kids and don't want them at home forever:rotfl:
It's only investors who want HPs to rise.0 -

I think its going to be hard for people to take you seriously when all we have known is prices crashing. But I wish you well in your mission.0 -

No, everyone wants prices to fall until the day after they buy; then they are quite happy for prices to rise slowly and steadily.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. How silly will you all feel when they do. I will be vindicated.

You think?
Wow.

I think if it does happen, and Im not sure it will, then its due to the number of FTBers jumping on the "save, save, save" for a deposit bandwagon. These people will be the ones fuelling an HPI and wont give a damn how it affects the rest of us.
Are there no useful graphs to illustrate your concept DD?0 -
The best thing is if we were in dotcom time that would of been snapped up for £12m.:D

177 posts, plus a load from your original name and you make the most excellent point about the house price bubble and the insanity of prices that cannot simply return to 2007 levels. Dotcom bubble.... and... house price bubble - both equally insane.
I knew you were a bear really..er.. Really.....2.
If it wasn't for the dotcom bubble our company would not exist. a few "real companies" were born from dotcom companies.
Dont forget dotcom was funded by "other peoples money" making playboy spending without returns.
But dotcom was a speculative bubble where as only a minority have purchased houses for profit.0 -

Actually, I'm bored now. I could go on and on, avoiding making any concrete predictions and just giving the same 'I saw it coming message' over and over. But I think to save time, I'll just announce that this is a parody of !!!!!!? and get it over with.
I don't know how he keeps himself going. I was bored of being !!!!!!? after just 4 posts!!
Why should they rise, it just a house For flipping sake! you know, roof walls etc' etc'Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!
