I CALL DIVERT ALL THE TIME TO MY MOBILE WHEN I AM OUT WHICH COST ME A FORTUNE!!! CAN I USE A DIALER TO DIVERT THROUGH TO MAKE IT A LAND LINE PRICE OR AS NEAR AS POSSIBLE??
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATFUL :xmassign:

It is not possible to divert your call via a short code alternative provider.

What you can do , (i assume you are still with BT for line rental) is get the BT Call Mobile Option added to your account. £1.50p a month,its free for first 3 months if you add by end of Feb. This gives you 25% off your calls to all mobiles.

You can also nominate your mobile number as your best friend number, on BT Family and Friends,and get a 20% discount on your call charges.

Whether you would get 25% off, then a further 20% off reduced total using this idea i dont know.

If you join TalkTalk Business Landline.. (ie line rental and all calls)
They have different Call Plans... (add VAT on all charges)

Talk Business 1 - The Capped Plan
UK calls capped at 9p for 60 minutes
UK mobile calls capped at 22.5p for 60 minutes

That means you pay max 3 min then its free upto 60min for all calls.
If you divert calls to mobile the first 3 mins will be charged at 7.5p/min then free upto 60min.

This is much cheaper than BT if you get long calls diverted to mobile..

Talk Business 2 - The Bundled Plan
1200 minutes of UK & International fixed calls and UK mobile calls for just £50
If you dont normally spend £50 on phone bill its not worth..



If you only get small amount (low volume) calls diverted to mobile..
Then its cheaper with BT (i think)



Plus if you sign up they give 3 months free line rental (around £35).
And Cashback on Calls discount is calculated at 2.5% of net call spend and will be paid as a credit on your bill in month 14.

The Op is on a BT res line. To change to TT Business he would need to rent a business line to start with.

You could transfer your phone line to Talk Talk. You could then transfer your mobile phone to Talk Talk Mobile. Then, any calls between your landline and your mobile (and vice versa)would be free of charge. Talk Talk would charge you £1.50 per month for the divert facilty, whereas BT currently charge £1.75.

I notice if you go to here http://www2.bt.com/autoupdate and look up Faq. Your see you can combine Mobile Saver and F&F (Best Friend) giving a 40% discount on calls diverted to your mobile if you nominate it as your best friend.

it's a long shot but it could work for you:

Simply divert to the 1p/min to mobiles service 0844 861 64 64 and then your caller will be prompted to dial their desired number (your caller would have to know to dial your mobile number) and voila' you get your calls at 1p/min

on the downside, the caller will also be able to call anyone else at your expense (but still just 1p/min )

BTW you would also be able to call your landline from your mobile and use the diversion to call other mobiles at just 1p/min.

AFAIK there are devices (or even PC software) that would allow you to program the way your line beheaves in the event of an incoming call e.g.

<pickup call>
<get an external line as you would in a conference call>
<dial 0844 861 64 64>
<short pause>
< dial your mobile number>
