HI Frugalista and Hester, just wanted to say sorry to hear your bad news, hope things pick up soon.
  • I've just had £4 sent to me today from M & S so will pop in next time I'm near to see if there are any bargains or Christmas presents to use them on. They have also sent me some double points vouchers but I only ever use them on things I needed in the first place. Can be useful though.

I had forgotten that Tesco give double points if you use their card. I let my Tesco card lapse but think I might have to reapply. Thanks for the reminder NannyOgg:T

I'm relieved to say that DH has sorted out his truck problems (with his Dad's help) and he's had a few enquiries about from people wanting their gardens done, so we are just about keeping the wolf from the door. I'm determined to be stricter about buying things, and am trying to find ways to cut down our food bills as that's probably our highest expense apart from rent. We buy too much chocolate (me) and beer (him)!

Keep your chin up everyone, we will get out of these problems and things will get better xx

Sorry to hear your news Hester. Things at DH job are a bit wobbly at the moment which is making me nervous but no point in dwelling on things I have no certainty of. Just need to keep being sensible and tackling things one bit at a time.

If you pay in Tesco with a Tesco card, you effectively get double Clubcard points - points for the shopping, plus points for spending on the card :T

I thought you only got half the points for paying with a Tesco - or has it changed?

But you can exchange Tesco vouchers for 4x their worth in some hotel chains, family days out etc.and they have a long 'use by date' on them. I now have nearly £150 to spend on at Tesco's or nearly £600 for hotels etc! Now just got to decide when, where and with whom I'm going to use them.
