I'm absolutely full of the cold though, so going away to my bed soon, the extra cough mixtures etc. have came in handy xx

I stayed up for the bells, cuddled the OH and went to bed, lying in bed watching the sky light up from the fireworks up on the hill near me. Was lovely :)
Am wondering something here... watching the news about the Russians turning off the gas through Ukraine. Why did we let ourtselves get into a position where our gas comes from europe, our coal comes from Poland, our oil (in the north sea !!) comes from the arabs... why???
''Why cant they go back to town gas and make it cheaper? why cant they open the pits and use the 700 years of coal still here? why can't they keep our oil for us?? all this fuss about clean energy and carbon footprints isn't helping the planet as much as it's helping line somebody's pockets a hell of a lot .

does anyone else feel as though the last 10 days or so have been a waste of time? I have slopped around, eating bits and pieces and too much food, watched too much rubbish on tv, spent too much. I will be glad to get back to normal

Eh mardatha, I do so agree with you. For heavens sake all the political parties have been bleating on about not having enough gas storage capacity but not one of them has suggested an intensive building programme. Surely it would not take that long to build enough to store our needs after all they are proposing new roads blah blah to safeguard jobs so why not storage for gas. I despair of narrow minded brooooooon, who has taken on the role of president. They want to get the basics in place and pdq too
