It's like when I started my import businesses, yes I knew there was going to be a lot of hassle, but I knew at the end of the day the rewards would be good.

Well done Kinster, it must have been hard work but I bet it was extremely satisfying once your businesses started to return profit back. Good to hear that the thought of hassle didnt put you off!

I think you're being a bit harsh. There was a time when buy to let gave a good income, but it's a bit tigther now. This minor (or major?) hassle is not encountered when you give your money to someone else to invest for you. I think that's all he was saying.Happy chappy0

You have to admit he had a funny way of saying it!!!

Tom, I am pleased you can read and interpret my posts correctly, and,
you are looking at just the right fund, that one made me a lot of money, I liked their report too. Having observed my pal's efforts at BTL, and compared their experiences with my way of making money from investments, the hassle factor for me is totally absent. n.b.I am the sort of person that avoids any sort of hassle i.e. I avoid driving long distances at busy times, shops from 11 to 3, and BTL's.
Heres an interesting article: http://business.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,9063-1970938,00.htmlSurvivor of debt, redundancy, endowment scams, share crashes, sky-high inflation, lousy financial advice, and multiple house price booms. Comfortably retired after learning to back my own judgement.
This is not advice - hopefully it's common sense..0 -

nmiah Sorry, I'm not being unfriendly, but its not allowed to give any specific investment advice on these forums. Best plan is to look at the recent thread started by Tom - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=130015.
Following Martin's advice, its best to have some savings behind you before you start thinking about any investments. You have got to be able to ride out occasional short term paper losses. I have a clear investment strategy written down too that I follow absolutely.Survivor of debt, redundancy, endowment scams, share crashes, sky-high inflation, lousy financial advice, and multiple house price booms. You have yet again mis-read my mails. I stated that although I have had some minor problems, tenants leaving suddenly, I have always been ok. The developments I was refering to were BTL's that were being sold because they had been totally wrecked and thus the owners could not afford to do the work, hence they were development projects, ie something that a developer would take on.0 -

Without sounding rude if I was your tenant I'd be inclined to leave the next day, as a matter of fact I'd probably leave before the day ends!!! Oh I wont be leaving you a forwarding address either!!!Debt at highest (November 2005) = £35,856
