As MDUK has stated you do not need a receipt to gain a refund from any store. You are legally obliged to a replacement or refund receipt or no receipt. I did a whole six month project on consumer law at University and this is 1 of the biggest misconceptions.

Yeah, it is........so does that mean every CD is like this or just Tescos

I dont think I could pin point when I bought it, I shop almost daily at Tescos so I couldnt prove when I bought it. I will have paid on Visa Delta because I never have cash lol

Eagle, if you can, pull off the details from the sale of goods act and take it with you!
You only want a replacement however, so you should have no problems.

DTI sale of goods act factsheet
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

When I was waiting at CS today for my broccoli refund, the customer next to me wanted to change a frothie maker as it wasn't working. Had no receipt and CS said she need proof of purchase. She told her that if she knew which day she had bought it and with which card she had paid, then they could sort her out. Lady said she paid cash but used her clubcard and was bought Xmas eve. The CS lady called someone out and they traced it whilst I was waiting. HTH.
  • i bought mine from asda and have returned it this evening and was given a gift card with no problems, i didn't have my receipt. She did say that she had already received a few back though so it does appear to be a batch of them that have been copied wrong. you will propably find they have already had some returned so will swap it with no problems

    Hi
Well you never guess what.I found the receipt in my bag I use for shopping :snow_grin

So goes and gets it changed and soon as we get home try the dvd out and guess what............track 2 wont play :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • They can get funny refunding DVD and CD as they are worried abour prople copying and returning it. A swap like for like should be fine. If all the CDs are faulty they should have had news of such a thing.
