  • lol thanks for the replies, although BG was just an example (they are the dearest for me btw) yes my plan would cause job losses, but so what? work in an unscrupulous business, well thats your business, i don't know how you sleep at night tbh with penisoners and poor people on the poverty line becuase of your chosen line of work so quite frankly i don't care less that it upsets you - and its not as though your bosses care one jot about you either but i'm not here to beat you up about your poor choices in life..

i know my idea is a little far-fetched, but if people were a little bit more less willing to roll over and be shafted in this life we'd fare a lot better!
  • Well, we may not be the good guys but I don't think that we are the worst in the energy industry anymore!!! Our complaints level has dropped by 82% recently, It would be nice if we got a bit more good press though. The truth is that in real terms there is actually about 50 pounds a year difference in prices between the cheapest and most expensive energy supplier and that BG have offered the largest number of Social Tariff contracts to their customers than the rest of the energy companies put together !!!! People should stop and think about all the good things we do rather than just criticise, still as the largest energy supplier in the UK I guess we are just fair game to some people!!!!

You know I'm sitting here laughing at you because you remind me of some of the customers I speak to on a daily basis.......... you obviously haven't got the faintest idea about the energy industry or how it works. As for my poor choices in life I actually enjoy my job and I know that I've helped thousands of people who are struggling to pay their bills over the years I've worked for BG. You wouldn't go to the supermarket and start haggling about the bill when you get to the checkout would you??? Well its the same with the energy industry, you have to pay for what you have used!!!!

I think you should do a bit more research about the energy industry as a whole and get a life before you start criticising because you don't appear to know what you are talking about and have to my mind obviously received a bill from BG ( since you say we are the dearest for you!!!) which you are struggling to pay. I'd be sympathetic towards you and offer to help if it wasn't for the earlier personal comments you've made about me in your previous post!!! Think you've shot yourself in the foot with this one I'm afraid. LMAO!!!!

Great way to make friends on here.

So everyone at BG deserves to be out of a job and shouldnt be able to sleep at night? Just because you dont like BG as they are most expensive for you?

Its a pretty sad way to look at life, there are probably loads people that work for BG that struggle by on a fairly low wage and you feel they should be put out of work so you can prove a point to the other energy providers?

Schemes like this will never and should never work.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
  • Thanks Chris, I really appreciate the support. If you read my earlier posts you'll see that I work for BG and I should also point out that I live in a council house and support myself, 3 kids and my OH on a salary of less than 20,000!!!! BG employees are not the beneficiaries of huge profits but we do try our hardest to help our customers with their problems and queries mainly because we share many of the same ones, including problems with paying the bills!!!!

  • Chris, what makes you think i'm here to make friends? i was just throwing an idea out there before someone totally misread my post coz they work for BG ... which was just an example... i apologise loobylou btw, but i don't particularly care how the industry works, i just know how business works.. if a business has no customers, it will fail. in the case of ripoff energy firms, i think they deserve it. if a few people lose their jobs, they'll surely find work at one of the remaining firms who find themselves with an increased customer base.

    Just a thought!!
  • Don't all boo me but I think us as customers to these large energy companies should all do something about the cost of energy. Me myself personally think the targeting 1 company isn't the best way. They are all very highly priced. There is a group locally that are TRYING to get people to turn all their Gas and Electric ( apart from the fridge) off for a certain amount of time per say say 4hours or something. I agree with that because I'm sure if it was done nationally that would cost the companies huge amounts of money I would of thought. But and its a very big but its the wrong time of year for a lot of us to be doing this.
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!
    JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD
  • That is one way of doing things Winniepooh, though the energy companies would just shrug their shoulders as they know we depend on energy. A one-off 4 hour turn-off won't have much impact I would have thought. A downloadable petition was posted the other day so consumers can petition their individual suppliers. I think a petition to Downing Street will be far more effective.
