Apply for an ipoints credit card, and the first time you use it they will give you 2500 ipoints to spend on whatever you want. Just make sure you pay the card off in full and pay no interest.
If you use the card for any purchases you get 1 point for every pound, and double points in the first 3 months.
The card (which is with the Halifax), also has 0% interest on purchases for 6 months, and 0% on balance transfers for 9 months with a 3% fee (but remember- don't use it for both spending AND balance transfers!;) )
For those who don't know about ipoints, it's a bit like a cashback website which awards you points instead of cash- and there are LOADS of things you can spend them on. For instance about 2000 points will get you a CD.
If you sign up for their emails, they will regularly send you emails with links to their partners, and if you click on the link you get 10 ipoints. This is a really easy way to boost your points. I very rarely go through ipoints to buy anything, as I find other cashback sites better, but just by clicking on their emails everyday I saved up enough (about 2000 ipoints) to buy the latest Katie Melua CD, with very little effort!
