  • Try this. Just looks like the sudden powering off has corrupted a part of the file system. Shouldn't be serious and you shouldn't lose any data.
  • running check now....fingers crossed....thanks

I have a problem with chkdsk. I had a sudden power off and it's obviously corrupted my c: drive.

When I restart the machine it needs to run chkdsk, however I get a message saying it can't run chkdsk.

I went into Start, then run, then typed chkdsk c: /f but the machine says it can't run the fix part of chkdsk from there and asks me if I want to run it when I next power up the machine. I select yes.

I start up the machine and I get a message saying it can't run chkdsk.

Ideas please? Am I going to have to use my recovery disk?
