I'm not sure if it works out any cheaper unless you can get the cream when it is marked down or on offer. I could kick myself when I think of all the times I have walked past big tubs of cream in Tesco which were marked down to a few pence:mad: I could have made pounds of butter and froze it! Well at least I know now:o

One jam jar. One tub of cream. Put cream in jam jar and put lid on.

    Shake until it thuds.

Pour out buttermilk [you can use this in a different recipe if you keep it].

Keep shaking to get the last out. Tip out onto clean plate and rinse rinse rinse to get rid of all the buttermilk.

Spread onto fresh homemade bread. No better snack - unless you also put homemade jam on top.

Nice with a cup of tea.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

If you snap up cream on offer, then yes.

im intrigued by the concept of 'rinsing' butter as i have been reading about this online,,, sounds strange and one website recommended rinsing the water (in your kenwood chef, which i dont have) 7 times!!!
