Tesco value nappies, anyone tried them?

Need to save some extra penies this week and was considering changing from usual Tesco nappies to the value ones and wondered if anyone has tried them and what their opinion is of them?

They're for my DD who is 3, and although fully toilet trained for daytimes, we're not completely there for nights. She'll go to the toilet before bed at about 7pm then have a nappy put on, i'll check her nappy before I go to bed and change it if need be then it comes off soon as she wakes up at about 6am.

Thanks

I don't know if they are the same as when i used them with my dd's now 5&6 but they used to be terrible! they would disintegrate and the tape on them wouldn't stick if you had the slightest bit of anything on your hands!
The website says that they are adhesive fastening tapes meaning not much up from sellotape!
That was my experience and i never bought them after that!
  • I have never been a great fan of value nappies. Tried a few different supermarkets but not that impressed. The seem so thick and stiff and dont fit as well. Just my opinion everyone is different. I do use supermarket wipes and find some better than the leading brand names.

Don't know if it is the chemicals used in the nappies or because they are less absorbant but they give my LO nappy rash...I'm not bothered about the sticky tape thing although it's not as "nice" as the velcro you get on more expensive nappies nut for the price that doesn't bother me.

Have you tried wilkinsons basic nappies? I got these a few weeks ago to use when Lo does a poo at 5pm and there's only an hour till bathtime. They were pretty good and so far when I use them for a couple of hours or more we have had no nappy rash. (although still have sticky tape to attach if you are fussy about that).

They wont be the best but surely just for over night on a day time potty trained wee one they would be ok. Esp if you are checking and poss changing during the night.

  • Try Aldi nappies, can't fault them, £5.29 for 50, they also do pull ups for £3.59 which my 3 year old uses at night, again very good.
    Bargain!

  • Hi, i bought these nappies to help my son get dry at night, i found the good nappies were to good because he would wake up in the morning thinking he was dry because they were so absorbant, but with the value nappies he knew he had wet.

I used them a few time when my son was 2-3.
They were not great but as that suited my budget then it was fine.
If its all you can afford then use them and change her more often.
They don't stick well but if you put her knickers over the top it will be fine.
They are not very absorbent but at £1.99 for 30 its good when things are tight.

They're OK, I buy them occasionally and mix and match with the more expensive Tesco Ultra Dry ones. My DD is 2 and mostly dry at night so they're good for saving money this way. Ditto Aldi £5 odd for 50, these are as good as Tesco UD
