Survey complete, how much for roof repairs?

Spoke to the surveyor today and feel a lot more reassured now.
The roofs basically sound with no immediate peril.
Basically some trusses are distorted, which isn't unusual apparently. They dont need replacing thankfully. Some of the gang nail plates on them are dislodged (which he indicated is a bit more unusual). They need reattaching and some lateral bracing added.
He indicated that the work could all be done internally and should cost no more than a few hundred pounds.
He even indicated it may be something I could do myself and even gave me a few tips such as using a vice to reseat the metal plates and screwing rather than hammering the lateral braces in place (hammering could dislodge roof tiles).
Guess I got a little spooked by some of the wording in the report but it looks like a happy ending after all!

Ring a builder. Sit down when he tells you. Big sucking in of breath with this one. If it's expensive it'll be because they have to strip down the roof completely. And they're bound to uncovered other bits and pieces that need doing too.

We had our roof re-done a couple of years ago - old asbestos tiles, nails had corroded and tiles started slipping.

Approx £3,500 including cost of modern concrete tiles, IIRC.

Ask a local builder who he'd recommend to do roofing. That's what we did - we're surrounded by people in the construction trades - and he recommended a small local firm who did an excellent job, since done the roofs of 2 neighbours who saw ours being done, the way they worked and how pleased we were.
