I don't ski but my family love Andorra, they go either Monarch or Easyjet to Barcelona and take the skibus or they drive all the way (takes about 18 hours I think) The last few times they have hired a chalet or an apartment. The ski companies charge over the odds for everything, you can save a fortune if you book it all independently. I booked a half term holiday last year for 2 people half board in a 3 star hotel 50 yards from the lifts for less than £300 all in. (hotel, ski pass, equipment and flights).

    Have a great time...

We went to Flaine in France for our 1st ski holiday. It is ski in and ski out meaning you deon't need to take the bus to ski lifts etc. Brilliant place for 1st time. any travel agent should help you out.

I've been to Flaine and would also say it's perfect for beginners. Architecturally it's a concrete mess, but the scenery is fabulous and the slopes are great for progression. Excellent snow record, too.
