Voipdiscount & DID numbers

Signed up with voipdiscount as I am an expat living in Thailand, I will get free (sort of) UK landline and Thai landline & mobile calls. Tested it all and it works ok when calling my sip address from Busta.

What I want is a UK DID number, I signed up for uknumber.co.uk and got a free 0560 number, but it does not seem to work for voipdiscount. uknumber say the server rejects the call, there support is excellent by the way. In comparison I have sent 3 mails to voipdiscount over 3 weeks, none of which have been responded to.

Any other suggestions for a free UK number forwarded to sip with a local rate cost. Geographical number would be great but I don't want any kind of premium cost for the caller. Thanks.

Did you inform voipdiscount your pointing this number to your account? Because if they don't know where to route it to they will just reject the call

Its routed directly to my voipdiscount sip address, so should work its just like calling yourself with an address instead of a number I think.

Voipdiscount do not respond to any mails I have sent them, I first wanted to buy a number from them at 1euro. I also sent a copy of detail info provided by uknumber asking them why it was not working and asking for help.

Are they your personal ones or like sip.voipdiscount.com etc because your account might not be expecting your number so rejecting it.

Hi Edna.

Yes my 0560 number is diverted by uknumbers to myusername@sip.voipdiscount.com

To test I can receive incoming calls I called myself using my sip address from the Busta gadget.

Uknumbers response to me was:
When we try to send the call to you, the server is rejecting the call with the following error code: 401 Unauthorized

Please can you ensure that at a minimum you allow incoming IAX & SIP traffic from us on the following IP addresses:
213.166.5.129
213.166.5.130
213.166.5.131
213.166.5.135
87.238.72.151
87.238.72.153
87.238.72.154
Ideally, please allow any of the subnets 213.166.5.128/28 & 87.238.72.128/26 to send traffic to your network.

I sent the above to voipdiscount, but as I say they don't repy. The issue is them rather than me - when my PC is off I have calls diverted directly to my mobile by voipdiscount, again I have tested this and is working with Busta, I think this proves its not an issue with my PC or settings.
