Thanks again for all of your messages. I'm going to see if my mum can get the loan for me as I think this is the easiest option. I am also going to have a mad weekend again listing loads on Ebay and Amazon to see if I can get some money to pay off part of the Alliance and Leicester loan before the end of the month.
Some good news is that my nephew Joshua has been downgraded from Intensive Care to Special Care and he is now breathing all on his own. My sister is really pleased and I am so proud of my little nephew. Things like this put everything into perspective for me.
Have a great weekend everybody!!

Wow, well done so far. If you get your car loan sorted that would be fantastic, especially as it is still very early in Feb. Gives you a head start for your next months target.

Hi
Wel done and congrats on becoming an aunty - glad baby is doing so well - hope your sister is fine too!
Are you on target to clear a debt this month?0 -
Hello again.
I have received an accurate figure from Toyota and it is a little less than I thought, it's £5,158.32.
I have actually ordered a new car on the motability scheme. A lovely Ford Fiesta Ghia, I can't wait now. It won't be ready for another 8 weeks so I have got time to sort my car out and sell it before I lose my mobility allowance.
I don't think that I will be able to pay off the Alliance & Leicester loan this month, I am planning to pay it off with the proceeds from my car sale but I doubt I will get to sell the car this month.
However, I will probably be able to pay my Toyota finance off this month (which was my December target) so technically I will still be paying off a debt this month, just moving them around a bit!!
I have just listed £70 worth of stuff on Amazon so hopefully that will all sell. I was going to list some things on Ebay too but my time seems to be taken up with hanging around hospitals at the moment
So there we go, I will hopefully get at least 1 debt cleared this month whatever happens.
I hope that everyone has a good week!!

Doesn't matter what month you intended what debt! You're going to clear another one!0

Your new car should come at about the same time as your nephew comes home so a double celebration. You just need to get your dad better now and keep well yourself.0

Right then, an update. I have decided to sell my car with the finance still on it. Apparantly it isn't illegal if you tell the buyer and get them to pay off the finance directly (thank you to themaccas for giving me the idea!
) and then they can give me the money left over. I thought that this would save getting a loan through my mum and risking having to pay any sort of interest and/or early repayment fees.
My mum has agreed to lend me the money to pay for a service, 2 new tyres and 6 months tax so that I can get the best possible price for the car. I have figured out that all of this should cost me roughly £400. I have looked into the prices that my sort of car are going for and it seems to be around £7,000 - £7500 so I have decided to put it in Autotrader for £7,195, I am working on the fact that I should hopefully get at least 7k for it.
Therefore when I have paid the finance, I will have around £1,850 left. Take from that the £400 that it will cost me to get my car in a better condition and it will bring it to £1,450. A nice little lump sum to throw at my debts. The problem is that my new car won't be ready until the end of March but I really want to sell my current car ASAP so that I can get the best price for it. I will just have to try to get around the best way I can without a car, it will probably save me money for a bit too!!
So, has anybody got any tips for selling cars then as I have not got a clue!!!
Thank you for all of your support and encouragement :T

(By the way, Joshua is doing very well, he is now able to wear his own clothes as he has only got 2 tubes in now. They are a little big for him though, clothing for premature babies is very hard to find!! My dad is also on the mend, but still in hospital)
