We are going to Thailand in July 2006 and are horrified at the prices. The best Emirates price we can get is £700 each. This year, it was only £550 - we booked in March and wonder if we should wait until next March to book? Do the prices go down the longer you leave it? Is there a reason for the price increase and should we grab these prices while we can?
We thought that they would be dropping prices to Thailand to encourage people to holiday there and boost the Thai economy?
I know we could travel KLM. SAS or Air France cheaper, but we like the Emirates experience.
Look forward to your views!

Have you checked BA and Qantas???0

Yes Thanks
Very expensive from Scotland - not sure why we have to pay another £800 to fly via London when flights to London are only £64? Obviously we could fly with individual companies and save a lot of money, but we are worried we miss our next flight and lose out.
I guess BA etc are building in a liability claim incase we miss our connection?0 -
We have always flown with Thai but they are just too expensive for 2006. We have booked with Etihad from London for Easter and the Summer. For July they are charging £406.20 through Opodo. They have plans to fly daily from Manchester in the Spring. I know this isn't that convenient for Scotland but the prices are interesting.
They have new planes with additional Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 on order.
They are owned by the United Arab Emirate government and fly via Abu Dhabi, so they shouldn't be going bust.0 -
Could you not purchase your ticket from Scotland to London with BA but seperatly from your Thailand booking? This way you will still be able to check-in in Scotland for your Thailand flight.
Also have a look at booking through www.americanairlines.co.uk or www.lastminute.fr."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
