some channels are breaking up- either a few speckles, or the whole screen (and sound) stutters..
seems to affect longer recordings most..
any ideas? box is only a year or so old (hunting for receipt, just in case guarantee still valid!)

If the box works I cant see it being the problem (They usually either work, or dont work at all). Maybe the roof aerial has slightly moved somehow?:idea:0

mine breaks up lots; all into lots of little squares. i live just feet from the beach and it always happens when there is bad weathr coming in from the sea. or a strong wind about.0

It is a signal fault, caused by an aerial that isn't fully up to the job.
It may have moved slightly.0 -
Your picture will break up due to weather conditions, are there any big trees in the way of your aerial? the leaves on them swaying in the wind can cause this type of problem, specially when it's raining and windy, of course a decent wide band high gain aerial is better than a bog standard bin up there for years original. I have had various problems myself with this, the best answer is freeview through a satellite dish.
For those not informed, if you already have sky installed and your one years contract is over the equipment is yours to keep cancel Sky, you will still receive most of the freeview channels through the digibox FREE with much better reception.
hope this helps"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0 -
I sometimes have interference from other devices on my older freeview box (especially my shredder!?). Try moving any other electrical devices away?Super geek.0

It could be a UFO outside. Next time it happens, drop everything and run to the window!Super geek.0

This happened to us, and we bought a booster for the aerial, now perfect
