Solicitors Cost of Second Charge on Property

Why not do it yourself if cost is an issue?
Using a solicitor means you get his/her legal expertise and not just filling in a form and sending it off.
The costs will depend on the work involved and nobody here can give a definitive answer IMO.0 -
I've had a look online at the Land Registry. I think its a CH1 but I'm not too sure!
I was just seeing if anyone knew if a Solicitor would just be able to say its Form XYZ - take less than an hour and will be about £100, etc.0 -
Who is the second charge with. We have a second charge and didn't need a solicitor, the lender done it automically.
By the way the form is an AP10 -
Could someone let me know the approx cost of solicitors fees to register a second charge on a property.
Is the Lender letting you deal with this without a solicitor?
To register, its form AP1 as gail39 says and normally the Lender would attend to registration - if its a private charge then send the AP1 to the relevant Land Registry with the Mortgage Deed/Legal Charge and certified copy. If you are not represented, you will have to send full ID now as the forms have just changed.
If the lender wants a Form CH2 registering, which means any further advances made by the same lender in the future are secured along with their original charge, then send this with your application.0 -
