  • good ol' Tenerife!
We have been 3 times & had plenty of rest, sun, fun etc.
Monarch fly there but avoid half term - they jack the prices sky high! (not fair)
We rented a condo in Golf del Sur - it's a super lovely golf resort about 10 minutes from the airport & has a fantastic little area called San Blas which has 3 tiered plazas of restaurants/little bars - excellent for a nice little family! :-) No sandy beach though but fab if you like the pool anyway.

We also stayed in a FAB place called TORVISCAS with a fantastic sandy beach, lovely bars and restaurants, little shops etc., easy access to any parks you may be interested in. Torviscas is near Playa de Las Americas but WAY nicer famil atmosphere!
Let me know if you want any more info. :p
(ps. I am super picky & hate package holidays)

We have been to Portugal in Feb a few times, it can be pretty chilly especially at night and it has never been warm enought to swim or sit by a pool.

  • Agree with Bargain babe-Tenerife or other canaries would be a good choice if you are ok with a 4 hour flight. If you want some firm figures/prices fill the below in & the Travel bods on here can help you.....Happy new year

If any MSE 'posters' require quotes/help from me can you please include the following information to allow us to find you the best 'moneysaving' deal!

1-All airports you can fly from
    2-Duration
3-1st & last dates to leave the UK
4-Are night flights acceptable ? (Big point as night flights usually cheaper!)
    5-Party size & kids ages
    6-Board basis you require (ie self-catering, all-inclusive, h/b, bb...etc)
7-Type of resort, ie quiet, lively
8-Any resorts/countries you WOULD NOT go to
9-Any other neccesary factors, ie must have kids
    10-Prices required by what day/time?
club, pool, be within 'x' metres from sea...etc
11-Max. budget FOR THE WHOLE PARTY!!! Now I know there is a preconceived idea that if you say maximum £1000 we'll quote £999-99-NOT the case! It just saves us all time, for example if you were looking at peak Season or Whitsun for £125 pp it's a non-starter. Just 'as cheap as posssible' is not a help I'm afraid.
