PURE the BUG DAB Digital Radio £54.50 at BOOTS (instore)

I was out looking to buy myself a Bug for my Kitchen today and almost paid £99.99 in Dixons when I was in Boots and found them at half price for £54.50 from £109 !!!
This is by far the cheapest I have ever seen this for.
They only had the white one and of course it depends if they have it in stock (Big stores only I would expect), so I would perhaps phone & check before making a journey.
Also got a 150pts voucher from the machine and 218 points, so only really cost £50.82
N.B I got the last one from the Chatham store.

Most probably -It wasn't a shelf style POS reduction but seemed a manual reduction down to half price... I did get two btw (one for mother-in-law) so there may be more than the odd one about.
THey did have some others (Roberts?) ones half price as well but I didn't really pay too much attention to what they were.0 -
Might sound a daft question but if you can get a freeview box to turn your tv digital is there an equivalent for radio's?0

I know there are a few add on modules that you can get to upgrade your Hi-Fi, but I think they are almost as much as the radios themselves - though it may be better for some.
e.g. This one Here.0 -
The not-dissimilar Currys add-on ("Matsui DA-1") was £19.95 instore today.

The Matsui DA-1 was marked up at £14.99 at currys I visited today and they had quite a few on the shelves.

Saw earlier in the week in a Comet that they sell a similar DAB add-on gizmo to the DRG Matsui DA-1 (ie with L/R Photo outputs to be amplified through another unit such as a mini Hi-Fi or GhettoBlaster).
At Curry's reported £14.99 it's worth considering even without remote control'ability. From memory it was £60 reduced to £50 for the 2004/5 Sale! Shall definitely have a look tomorrow.

Why are these DABs so expensive? Yes I'd like more channel choice but I'm definitely not going to pay fifty or a hundred quid for just a radio. Especially when most of them for some reason seem designed on purpose to look peculiar.I ♥ MSE0

Ultra it isn't just about more channels it is, for me, largely about the sound and the clarity. To me DAB is the radio equivalent of watching Channel 5 on telly in some remote town with poor coverage and a fuzzy screen or watching it picture perfect through Sky channel 105.
I would be hard pressed to pick my favourite toy of 2005 either my DAB radio or Skyplus. The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0
