Bought a repossessed house -letter of disassociation?

Options
Hi - we have recently purchased a previously repossessed house and our solicitor has advised us to look into gettng a letter of disassociation so our credit reference is not affected by the address. Does anyone know how or where I get one or what it is? He said to check online but all I can find is a wikipedia thing which is not very helpful.
Thank you
DFSD

You would write to the credit reference agencies and ask that a notice of disassociation be put on your credit file. I would have thought it only necessary if you have similar names, as these days credit referencing is no longer linked by address. Some credit companies don't take much notice of notes added to credit files, others may wonder why you needed to put such a note.

We bought off people who then went bankrupt, listing our address as theirs  It didn't affect our credit rating.
