Cheap Flights? Ryanair?

How can Ryanair go on describing themselves as a 'cheap flights' company? I have just checked the prices for myself wife and little boy to Pisa at the Spring half term with BA and the latter are actually less expensive overall! (I know which I will choose!) This is not the first time I have found this. What is more I always seem to be hearing about their totally unsympathetic treatment of customers. Also their home page offers are misleading. They list a huge number of "free" filights (paying only the taxes) between 1/1/06 and 25/03/06 - then you look for a flight between 1/01.06 and 9/01.06 - do you find any free? They are all regular fares. Then you go back and discover it actually says "from free"!! What sort of trading description is that? What sort of trading practice is that? Honest? - is it time for Trading Standards to take a look at these people?

1st flight I checked was 0.01p plus charges & taxes so it's clear that the free flights are there.

As for not a low cost airline, most of their flights are low cost, it's only if you book late or book for popular times that it gets expensive.

as for their "customer service", well what do you expect when you pay pennies for a 2 hour flight, you play the game by their rules or you go elsewhere and probably pay more. No one is forcing you to fly Ryanair and only a fool would believe Ryanair is always cheapest.

Pays your money and takes your chances. I've been all over Europe paying lots less than other firms charge and had no probs apart from a couple of weather cancellations which are beyond their control. Budget airline - budget experience..... I would not fancy a long haul with them tho!

Re half term..... there were some great deals when they first went on sale, you have prob missed them, they dont last long.
Thats not to say they wont put the prices down again....... the flights I booked 2 weeks ago at £52 are now on sale for £35! Keep checking and you may yet get a bargain but for half term week .......I would not hold your breath.
I save so I can spend.
