Npower Question

I recently received an electricity bill from npower which also told me my DD was going up to £58 per month. I only use 5 units a day, usually less. They had over-estimated my units used, so I went online and submitted my new reading - 200 units less than they estimate - so they can re-bill me.

Today i've received an email from them asking me to "check my reading as previous meter readings we have don't fit with this reading." That is because I had a new meter installed on 17th Sept which was re-set at 0. (surely there computer system tells them this). I'm just about to reply to their email telling them what they should already know.

Anyway, to the point. The day my meter was installed I rang npower asking them to change my tarrif from standard to SOL13. She confirmed the switch over the phone. I recieved a letter confirming my gas had switched, but I can't find one for electric.

Can I ask for them to backdate my 264 units (units used sinse 17th Sept when I asked for the switch, when new meter was installed) and for those units to be charged at the SOL13 rate rather than the standard??

Unfortunately not. Suppliers often don't get told about meter exchanges, or are told after some delay.

Can't help with the rest, sorry

It was npower that arranged for the meter to be changed in the first place (it was previously an E7 meter). My bill has taken into consideration the new meter which is why i'm questioning the email.
