Depending on the type of bond, its probably not that which has not made any money. Its the funds within it.

No-one can answer your question at this stage as we have insufficient information. What funds are you invested in? What funds are available (it may be a case that hundreds are available or just a few)? How has it performed over the last year or two compared to earlier years? Is it a proper investment bond or a guaranteed equity bond?

Yep, it shows you are in the With Profits fund. Which is unfortunate. However, you need to look or ask for the surrender value including market value reduction. If that penatly is zero, then get out ASAP. If a penalty still exists, then you MAY have to stay put.

Britannic are closed for life business and offer limited options going forward. If no penalty, then its a case of looking elsewhere.

    Hi gwendolyne,

Have a look in the small print and see if there is any penalty free date on which you can take the money out with no MVR.

I hate to tell you this but it's often on the 5th or 10th anniversary of the date you took out the bond.

Ring up and ask for the "surrender value" - this will include any penalty.I agree if there's no penalty you should take the money out straight away.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
