Buying a Nearly New Car

Hello All
Our family runabout is on its last legs, so we are in the market for a new one. After humming and haa-ing we've narrowed the search down to 2 alternatives, both late plate runabouts (small engines, fairly basic spec etc).
I need to to know how good a deal I can expect off the sticker price - for those of you are fortunate to be in a similar position at the moment, what is it like out there? Are great deals being done, or are dealers sticking to their guns? I'm happy to haggle, I just hate the thought of not getting the best deal - but then I don't want to waste my time either!
Cheers
KSH.

Small car = Small profit, so don't expect HUGE discounts!!
Check out the GENUINE up to the minute deals, on all makes & models, to be sure the prices you're looking at are as low as they might be.
Have a look in

Clik on This Weeks Best Deals. You might find buying NEw, rather than nearly new, is a better deal - full warranty, later reg, 0 miles, cheaper or 0% finance....

Make sure you research prices from all available sources before negotiating.
Don't get carried away with how much you are negotiating off, rather than the actual price you are going to pay, or getting the car you want.0 -
You'll only find out by going to dealer and asking "I've no trade in, how much will you knock off the price" and then saying "No that's not enough". If you're not paying cash then don't get conned into any astronomic APR HP deals, on strength of "If you take our finance, we can knock off £xx".If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
