USB Mouse Keeps "Unplugging"

Hey,
I have a Packard Bell Optical - but with wires - Mouse. I have had it months and months and months, installed all the drivers etc for it and its worked fine up until recently.
However, recently at randoms times the little pop up box in the right hand corner tells us the device is not responding I think, and then the mouse stops working. If you unplug it, and plug it back in it works perfectly!
Any ideas?!
