Atlantic Electric - Electricty Charges

I, along with many others, have recently been advised of the price hike for Atlantic Electric. I'm thinking of changing supplier but wasn't too sure if their rate for electricity was favourable.

I currently use on average 17 units/day midweek and 22-24/day at the weekend 129 units per week). Only 2 of us in the house and I think this is way too high, but that's another story!

Atlantic are now charging:

12.17p for each unit plus a Standing Charge at 15.680 per day.

I currently pay £55 per month and still owe £53 for this year. My "hike" will take me up to approx. £75 per month for electricity :(

I've had alook at some comparison sites and they recommend British Gas.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Personally I hate British Gas, the customer service is dreadful

:( I had a two-year long battle with British gas where they were trying to charge me for a flat that didn't exist in my building. I vowed never again, under any circumstances, to go with them. But for all the me's out there I'm sure there are thousands of satisfied customers

    What about E-On then?
  • No idea what area you are in but in mine (Yorkshire) Scottish Power (online energy tariif) are very reasonable for electricity (on my consumption it works out at less than 10p per kwh!). Plus there's £31 cashback available from Quidco for switching your leccy to them!

PS IME (painful!) BG really are pants!
