Swiftcover, when my car got kicked in by a local, they told me to go round and recover the excess myself. I asked what legal cover was for? No reply! I complained several times at last they did something, but then realised I needed to fill in a Police form for them to get money from the peson concerned. The car kicked in, in June, still waiting for the excess to be recover, all £200 of it. Also the garage that was repairing my car never let me know when I could take the car in, after intial inspection. Swiftcover pretend that this is done in 3 days. I had to keep asking for Swiftcover to get the garage to let me know when I could take car in. That alone took a month. They still have not replied to my last email, but I suppose a week is not too long!
Then there's Insure, Equity House, Bergholt Road, Colchester. They give a quote online of £200 excess, but there is a 'fault' with the web site this is actually £400 minimum excess, plus extra to actually drive our car to Work!!
Dont use either of these companies, is my experience!

My car kicked in, with legal cover! Swiftcover told me to go round the person concerned. But they would not supply Police Protection! I asked what is legal cover for? They never replied. Until I complained, and complained. I am still waiting on my £200 excess to be recovered by their 'Legal Cover'. I They never reply to E Mails, for days, or weeks on end. Never say sorry, and generally give the impresson of 'hard luck mate its your problem'
Completely useless should be their name!0

I don't want to defend Swift Cover, but they are cheap and you get what you pay for with insurance, just like everything else.
When you pay the price of a Ford Fiesta, don't expect a Rolls Royce.
Thanks for your post Saints4eva. I think that this is a valuable lesson for us all; price is not everything. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0

I know it doesn't help Saints4eva but I have to agree with you, insurance isn't just about price, you want the cheapest good quality cover and once you have made a claim you learn that.Oscar_The_Grouch wrote: »I don't want to defend Swift Cover, but they are cheap and you get what you pay for with insurance, just like everything else.
