Insurance for personal lease car? Where from?

Hi,
I have a car on personal lease. I've had it for a year and the insurance is up for renewal soon. I had a heck of time finding an insurance company that would insure the car (as it's a lease car) last year. I tried any number of the 'usual' car insurance companies last year and they wouldn't touch it cos it's a lease car.
I ended up going through a broker and can't help feeling that I'm paying a little more than I would have otherwise. I just wanted to find some other companies to get a comparative quote, anyway.
I was hoping the good folks on here would have some recommendations of other insurance companies I could try?
Many thanks!

Our car is on a personal lease. We had no problems getting insurance. We got a very compeitive deal from Budget in the end.
Hope that helps.😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬0 -

A broker is a good way, as the comparison sites will state that some insurers can't quote you because the vehicle is leased, even though they will if you call them.
If you do a search for 'leased' or 'leasing' on this forum, you should find quite a few previous threads.0 -

Would just like to say that Budget are a BROKER rather than insurer. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Is it because it's a personal lease or because the car doesn't belong to you? My OH has a company car on a lease but arranges insurance in his own name with Direct Line.
Don't know if this helps

i think you can insure with plenty of companies - just declare that the lease company is either the registered owner or legal owner (or both).
pretty sure both MSM & Confused ask these questions (i did a quote last week to prove someone wrong, where i showed that children does affect price)
if they ask the question and you answer it honestly, then any prices they give on these sites they should honour, otherwise it would be unethical on their part.0
