Identity Theft

Hey guys....

I was looking around and didnt know where to put this.....

My identity was stolen a few months ago and they have no slipped up and provided me with an address they are using. I think i have found where they live since they have kept doing it with a lot of credit agencies etc.

Do you call the police?

What's the best course of action when you have a bunch of evidence?

Thanks a lot for the help in advance

  • Anyone????

Or at least direct me to the right forum?
  • I would definitely call the police immediately and notify your credit card company. I would avoid confronting the person yourself since you have no idea who you're dealing with other than a criminal.
  • How did you manage to find out where they lived? Do not confront these people but as the poster above says notify the police and your cc company - let them deal with it.
  • They slipped up because i called up one of the companies and the address matches where they have their things sent and its in the middle of a residential area. Its someones house and not some warehouse or something.

I have suffered no losses of any monetary kind but it messes up credit ratings i believe. They are buying things and not paying for them. I got one of those telogram letters that ask you to confirm things and so on to debt collect.

If only i had friends with explosives.

    GET EM!!!! Hahaha

But thanks guys. I'll give em a call since some of my friends are in the police.

Why are you posting here if your mates are coppers?
  • two friends that i know from school are in the forces.

    I am not.

And what kind of question is that???? None of us can get arrested or hung for treason with anything said here.

I was asking why you need to post here if your mates are coppers. ie would it not make more sense to ask them?
  • Oh, sorry. I get what you mean.

I didn't know if there was anyone else you could call. I tend to leave polambrigade til last resort.

How do you find out everything you are registered to inc. credit cards etc. Is that the credit reference agency?
