My, that must be confusing.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I find ignore so funny.
I could write that I heared a rumor CF was caught in an uncompising position in a lift with a goat and he would not know.:rotfl:
But it is just a rumor I heared, I am sure it's complatly without any substance so I would not bother writing it.
It's just a forum and everyone is anonymous so ultimately there's no reason to care if some other anonymous person wants to repeatedly post that you like to have congress with chickens for example.
However, when there's lots of nasty, personal insults flying around which are crafted to drag you into a personal slanging match (for the gratification of the posters who are doing the baiting and get their kicks out of slanging matches) then it makes reading and discussing the issues here a lot less pleasurable than otherwise. So IMO the 'ignore' button can serve a very useful function.
(Sooner or later you come to the realisation that you are habitually interacting with some types you'd go out of your way to avoid having any contact with in real life. Why on earth should you 'associate' with such sad, twisted personalities online?)--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -

I agree with most of that but some people just people on ignore just for the fact they disagee with their view (which is fair enough) (but if they could do it withouth starting an ignore ceremony it would be nice:))
But fairly pointless in my view as you just end up of people to agree with which just makes it just a social forum:(
How did you know about the chicken?;)
I heared about the cow incident, most unfortunate I belive you, you can keep your pasty warm there.

There's a difference between disagreement and robust debate - and out and out nasty personal insults with attempts to get under the skin and antagonise.
The line is frequently crossed here and the resulting slanging matches ruin the forum as well as being detrimental (for me) to one's overall experience of posting on MSE. Therefore best to just 'ignore' and improve everyone's MSE experience.--

why do people on this board like to call them bulls or bears.
can we just use "positve people" or "negative people please?
those that thinks it's bad and not that bad and the others who think it's going to be 70% price drops.
This is my personal bug-bear (no pun intended). It shows a complete lack of understanding about bullishness and bearishness as applied to the stockmarket.
People can bearish in the short-term and bullish in the long term (I am on both the stockmarkets and housing markets). I've been bearish in the stockmarket for quite a while now and so I have moved out of equities and into cash. Very soon (when the FTSE100 gets to around 3500) I'll become a bull and put all my money back into shares.
People on here use the terms 'bull' and 'bear' to describe people who want HPI and HPC respectively. Could we therefore please use the HPC and HPI terms so that newbies don't think we're all stockmarket ludites?
For the record, I'm a HPS - House Price Stagnator - I want prices to stagnate so that people who have bought at the peak are not decimated, and first time buyers can buy.
p.s. I've been busy buying HBOS shares today and so haven't seen all the forum argie-bargie. What's been going on?Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

Thats fair enough but it is done by "either side"(we all have our kranks)

Understand they need to stand their ground but overall the party is over and reality is finally starting to set in.
