Im about to buy my dvd re writer but it doesnt include screws or cables. Is it easy to take the original one out and use those cables or would it be easier to buy new ones and fit it underneath the original.
If i should buy the screws and wires where should i get them from?
Has anyone got any good websites (detailed) on how to do this ?
Thank you

Has it been bought as a straight replacement? It should be a straightfoprward case of just swapping the two over and plugging in the IDE and power cable that used to be fitted to the old drive - the only other thing to check would be jumper settings. What drive have you bought and what is the old drive.0

Hi
It all depends what else you've got, how many hd's? I personally would leave the original one in and fit the other one underneath. For this you would just need a new ide cable and a couple of screws, but if you've got 2 hds fitted you wouldn't need one, as probably you will have spare connector already.
First we have to find out whatelse you've got in your comp.0
