Try looking on websites/forums dedicated to mental health issues to see if there are any recommendations there.0

Age Concern list insurers that will cover pre existing conditions, but you should be aware that if the conditions are severe or complex, you will pay a great deal to get cover (possibly more than your holiday).

I'd imagine most travel insurance would not include pre-existing conditions of any sort of ongoing illness. Perhaps a different approach would be private health insurance which would cover you anywhere in the world but again would probably be punitive on the pre-existing conditions.0

Incorrect, and quite an odd answer considering the above responses.
(On a side note, PHI to cover existing mental health conditions is extremely expensive, and the cover very limited.)
purplecatlover, are you travelling within Europe?Gone ... or have I?0 -
no, outside europe, i think the indian ocean..my geog is rubbish.
gave up and just phoned post office in the end, i was getting incredibly confused with online stuff, the standard policy seems very expensive to me but the extra was reasonable so just went with it.
thnaks for all the replies.0 -
Yes, you are right, the Post Office travel insurance is very pricey compared to its competitors. Also, they are marketed at the mainstream customer, but I guess if you're willing to pay on top of that, they will cover any health condition, if the price is right (for them).
Can I ask how much it was extra?0 -

If you are interested I would suggest you contact them for a quote. Medical screening and any subsequent policy 'loading' are surely very much tailored to an individual's own circumstances so what applies to one person will more than likely not apply to another.0
