Trying to get Media Player to play DVDs

I found out about the K-Lite Codec Pack by searching on MSE.
I've installed it, but when I run a DVD I get an error message
Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. Open Display in Control Panel, and then lower your screen resolution and color quality settings. To view the DVD Troubleshooter, click More Information.
I've lowered the resolution and colour settings to the minimum but I still get this error message.
I'll try rebooting the PC, but if that fails, what should I look at next?
Happy chappy

  • Hi
Which version of media player are you using, Open media player, go to Tools, Options, File Types and make sure DVD Video is ticked and apply, and yes I would reboot after installing codecs.

    Hope this helps
