So, do your fridge magnets stick to the front of the fridge or fall off?

If they stick, the stainless steel is probably a ferritic or martensitic stainless steel.

If they drop off, the stainless steel is probably an austenitic stainless steel.

You could try the magnet on your cutlery too, I'm betting that it is austenitic stainless steel and not magnetic.
