What to buy???

Hi there

I know this would not be a dilema for a lot of people but it is for me. I have a grant available to me to enable a tech environment for children and staff who care for them, including admin.
I have a great list of things I need to buy and I am stuck as to what to invest in.
The items need to be relatively easy to use and of mid range price, reliable and robust.

Can anyone recommend to a novice what they would invest in.
Here is my list- dvd player, laptop (for adults, office work), camcorder, digital camera, desktop, hi-fi, flat screen lcd tv (32"), recording equipment (conversation recording), other multi media equip.
Thankyou so much.
