Multistop flight to New Zealand

Hi,
I'm looking to go out on 6th Jan and come back on the 23rd stopping over for a few days at some or all of: Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney
Te best price I've found so far is £1495 via Flight Centre which seems steep. I appreciate it's peak season, but this is quite a whack of cash.
The best straight return I've found is £1100!

Flights to Australia and New Zealdn tend to drop quite a lot on or just after 15th January. Are you able to delay your trip by 10 days?

I've just looked into this and Korean airways are the cheapest but stop off in Seoul which was only 700 quid on Lastminute.co.uk during their flight sale (now finished but still very cheap). Royal Brunei stop off in Borneo which is a good place for adventure and Cathay Pacific operate from Honk Kong. The best for the stop offs you want is probably going with Air New Zealand and it's possible to plan a multistop journey on their website so play around for the best dates. Netflights via Quidco offer 3% cashback though for multistops you may have to call their premium rate number and forego the cashback so ANZ site may be the best bet.

There's an offer on to Sydney with Quantas just now if two are travelling though I don't know the details but if you want to stop off there it might be worth considering and buying flights to nz from sydney.0

I think as the OP wants to stop in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney then it'll have to be Emirates they fly with and they usually have quite competitive fares.
But like I said in previous post it's still high peak so will be quite dear.
Hope you have a good trip!

Thansk folks - unfortunately I can't delay until the 15th Jan which is a shame as I need to use up the time off before then.
Price is massively important to me, so I'm looking now to drop some of the luxuries and just stopover in either Tokyo, Hong Kong or Sydney on the way out and Thailand on the way back, which I'm hoping will get it down to about £1100 - £1200.
I'm goingto cvall Travelbag, and STA travel again tomorrow for a revised quote.
Thanks again for your help folks :-)0 -

Try Trailfinders aswell, I just got a quote with them and it was much cheaper than anywhere else, I think they must have special contracts or something. Thailand is lovely, but the Thai baht is very strong against the pound just now - it's not the cheap place you may think it is.****************************0 -
We were looking to go in Jan 09 and couldn't believe the prices. We delayed our plans until Feb 4th 09 and the prices dropped. Got 2 returns booking direct with Air NZ for total price £1700 inc taxes.
Otherwise I found www.kayak.com a useful comparison site.0 -
I did Heathrow-Bangkok-Sydney-Auckland on Thai Airways. I think Thai codeshare with Air New Zealand. Air New Zealand fly Heathrow-Hong Kong-Auckland.
If you can drop Tokyo off the itinerary it will make the trip simpler and hopefully cheaper.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
When getting to New Zealand there's a great site like Moneysavingexpert called Kiwimoneysavers.
It has information about car rental, buses, offers hotel deals and more for travel within New Zealand.
Check it out, may just save you some money on your trip there too!
