New Boiler and Carbon Monixide Alarm

Options
Hi.
Just had a new boiler installed in the airing cupboard. Moved the Carbon Monoxide alarm in there with it and it goes off every time the boiler fires up. Moved the alarm just outside the cupboard door and left the door ajar.....alarm stays quiet.
Is this normal, do I have a problem?

Thanks,
Mandy

I'm no expert, but according to:

    http://www.carbonmonoxidekills.com/placement.htm

Homeowners should remember not to install carbon monoxide detectors directly above or beside fuel-burning appliances, as appliances may emit a small amount of carbon monoxide upon start-up. A detector should not be placed within fifteen feet of heating or cooking appliances or in or near very humid areas such as bathrooms.

    Q) Where should carbon monoxide alarms be located?
Kidde recommend that carbon monoxide alarms should be placed 1.5 metres from the floor providing it is not in dead air space (which is 34cms from any walls, corners or alcoves). Alarms must be at least 2 metres away from any heating appliance to prevent nuisance alarms.
