I have ADSL broadband and don't live in a cable TV area, at the moment I get 512Kbps.
the figures from my modem are
Downstream line attenuation 63 dB, noise margin 11dB
Upstream line attenuation 15.5 dB , noise margin 17dB
would I be able to get 1M ?

If you put your phone number and postcode in this website http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php it will be able to tell you.0

possibly not, 63db is the maximum attn which many domestic routers can report, so the true attn figure may be much higher, suggesting your line length may be..er...long
