Microsoft Access Query problems

I have a query on an inventory like table which collects all fields that have the "Taken?" Yes/No field set to Yes, and the "Returned?" field set to No, to trace any items out on loan, which have been collected and not yet returned. If I have an item showing as out in the query, then I set the returned field in the original table to Yes, the query does not update, even if I enter design view and run it again, or press the refresh all button. If I add a new field to the original table, then refresh, the query updates. I also have a report from the query, if I change one of the yes/no's in the original table, the report will update on a refresh, but if I change that for two records, and then refresh, only one will update in the report.

Access 2007, if that helps.

Thanks.
Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.
