I want to upgrade O/S.
I run Windows 2K pro, twin 80 gig HDD's the secondary HD is just used for backups.
I would like to reformat the slave make it the master and install a new copy of XP Home on it, then make the original master the slave and using the "file and settings transfer wizard" transfer my data, & program files, settings ect across thus minimizing loss, once all is working well I can format the slave and use as my backup drive as before. does this sound realistic? and has anyone else tried this.

Alternatively, just install XP Home over the top as an upgrade. It'll automatically transfer applications and documents.
I'm interested to know why you want to upgrade Win2k with XP being basically Win2k with a tellytubby GUI.0 -
The reason is mainly because I have progs that will not run on Win 2K, I also have a Zen which requires XP"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0
